Partner In Crime - Song Version 🎵

Syd

Long deserving of overdue credit
In these passages of rhyme
She’s never tried to change me,
Alter or rearrange me
In so many ways she saved me
My silent partner in crime.

She puts up with my madness,
Loves me when I'm sane
I was a wilted flower
Forgotten on the window pane
Somehow she has the power
To lift my face from dour
I'm grateful every hour
That her sweetness meets my sour
I'm the desert, she's the rain.

(Chorus)
She is calm where I am chaos,
She is truth where I pretend.
She’s the one who always finds me
When I vanish in my head.
Every fault of mine, she softens,
Turns my roughness fine
How lucky I am that she’s
My partner in crime.

She’s uniquely crafted carpentry
Where others come flat pack pressed
She keeps my blood flowing
By never guessing, always knowing
She’s the beating in my chest.

A strong willed woman, always glowing,
Never dull, her kindness showing.
Deserving of a crown
For putting up with me
A halo she adorns
She’s the rose to my thorns.

She's the mother to my children,
A counterbalance in my life
I'm one lucky man
To have her as my wife
I was lost inside the darkness
Till she pulled me to the light
I am death, she is life.

(Chorus)
She is calm where I am chaos,
She is truth where I pretend.
She’s the one who always finds me
When I vanish in my head.
Every fault of mine, she softens,
Turns my roughness fine
How lucky I am that she’s
My partner in crime.

Chemical kisses at sunrise
Convinced me she was the one
Thirteen years have passed
Who says good things can’t last?
She’s carved into my consciousness,
A masterpiece of flesh and bone…
I’m forever grateful
That she made her heart my home.

A lovely poem written about one's spouse showing gratitude and contentment with one's wife. Nicely done

Great stuff, Syd (join the lucky man club) - despite the slightly incongruous Bonnie and Clyde as a header - appreciate the Title and chorus but even so....😜

        PS Fine film.

Hi Dave, thank you for your kind comment. Incongruous? I thought the image was quite fitting for the title 🤣 I do understand what you mean though. Thanks for stopping by. Much appreciated mate 👍

Cheers Syd. Actually I really liked the sly weave , but felt compelled to point this out in my sometimes unfortunate way.
