Departure

Algendhir

Under the shadow of the moon

I buried my feelings for you.

I took time to think this through-

The one who held my world was you.

As time took hold of our story

I watched it slowly fade,

A beautiful burning red

Yet it became see-through.

You left me behind,

Erasing our past from your mind.

Oh god, I wished instead

To be the you who could let go.

Now I’m the only one grieving.

These memories became pain and sorrow.

I walk a lonely procession,

Shrouded in misted desolation.

So under the shadow of the moon

I mourned my feeling for you.

As I am no longer part of your tomorrows

Of these yesterdays, I let go.
