together

lane.rowe

watching the boats with you
is when i feel at home.
but being alone with you-
that’s what i miss the most.

i want to be underneath the golden trees,
laying in the shade, just you and me.

i miss when we would drive
with no destination in mind.
we had so much to say,
but were comfortable in silence.

when will it be summer again.
i miss acting like we were still kids.
i don’t wanna grow up or get older,
i wanna stay young and lean on your shoulder.

i wanna watch the boats from the docks,
sit at the end and try to skip rocks.
dream about the future we’ll have together—
own a home and a boat like all the others.

and life is so hard

when we’re apart.

I just wanna be done with college
When will it be summer again?
