OF POETS
(Without poets, mornings are absent)
In villages,
Roosters herald the dawn,
Chimneys then
Release their smoke.
In cities,
Poets with their muses
Draw mornings near,
Longing
For the roosters’ call..

I love the depth in the layers of this poem. Country vs City, roosters vs poets, what is vs what one wishes, nature/muse vs technology/man a fave
