Death

Natik S.

Don’t fear me, I’m your friend,
I come when all your tears must end.
Not with anger, not with flame,
I arrive soft, calling your name.
Don’t fear me, I’m your friend,
I wait where broken roads all bend.
When hope is tired, when hearts can’t mend,
I hold your hand till pain suspends.
Don’t fear me, I’m your friend,
I’m not the loss—you only pretend.
I’m rest, I’m silence after the storm,
A place where souls feel safe and warm.
Don’t fear me, I’m your friend,
I’m there when breaths are hard to send.
Life screams loud, but I don’t shout,
I gently turn the darkness out.
So when you see me at the end,
Remember these words I always send:
Don’t fear me, I’m your friend—
Not the end, just the bend.
