The empty look
From an open door
Words unspoken
Fell to floor
The staggered rain
At the window pane
Droplets surrendered
Memories chained,
Your life elsewhere
Fills your eyes
The cotton buds
Your tears hide
Away so far
When time it shone
But staggered rain
Took away the sun.
Slowly with strength
You took the case
So many memories
Folded now in lace
An empty room
Where no shadow falls
Just a gentle voice
I recall.

Most melancholic and at the same time a bit wistful it paints a gray and wet day. The repeated stanza and rhyme give a powerful and heavy feel to this poem a fave
I second that Soren.
