Terrace Tears

StarLoom

One evening on the terrace, I didn’t feel right,
Me and my friend were talking, just killing the night.
Nothing looked different, nothing was new,
But something inside me quietly broke through.

Out of nowhere my eyes turned weak,
Not from pain, just from a thought too deep.
I pictured losing her without a real sign,
And that fake goodbye still crossed the line.

I never cried for the biggest ends,
Not for deaths, not for broken friends.
I stayed numb through storms I should’ve felt,
But this one thought made my guard melt.

I didn’t lose her, it wasn’t even true,
Yet the fear felt real the whole way through.
Some love doesn’t hurt when it leaves-it hurts,
Because even the thought of it still works.
