persona non grata

Tristan Robert Lange

bonded means mutuality
otherness is not mutuality
understanding breathes mutuality
never accept diminishment as a boundary
don’t mistake space for mutality
if being oneself makes one persona non grata
to another, then that other is no anchor
let alone a safe space to form a strong nuclei
what’s left?—the end—persona profane
such as it is—move onward—you’re fearless

There's one who's never persona non grata. He's always there, or if we can't see him we always hear him - glug! lol.

    • Tristan Robert Lange

Truth! He makes for a persona gonna swoon! Ah-gah-gah-gah-glug-glug! LOL!

      • orchidee

And now a song from hi. It begins:
        Ohhh, a glug-a-glug glug
        And a glug-a glug glug...... E I E I Glug!
Maybe to the tune of Old MacDonalds Glug Farm. And does he know Popeye? lol.

A poetic warning to not allow others to hold you back from being who you are. Don't anchor your hopes and beliefs on someone that does not accept you. Nicely done Tristan

💯 spot on, Soren! Thank you so much for reading and understanding it, my friend. Much appreciated! 🖤🧭🙏🕯️

          • sorenbarrett

            Always most welcome Tristan

In the end, it's all about yourself.
People will come and go, some will be helpful, some will help themselves on your behalf.
That's why when you look behind to see who's following, you realise, no one is.

            • Tristan Robert Lange

Paul, there’s a hard honesty in that observation. Realizing who is actually walking with you can be sobering, but it’s also clarifying. Thank you for naming that so plainly, my friend. 🖤🧭🙏🕯️

I always tell my son to be himself and never change for anyone, this is powerful and very much enjoyed. 🌹

              • Tristan Robert Lange

Dearest Teddy, thank you for this. That encouragement you give your son sits at the heart of this poem…staying true without shrinking. I’m really grateful you felt that strength in it and or you, my friend! 🖤🧭🙏🕯️

To whom that we may not BE, shall ever refuse us constantly. Their insistence on our non-existence is an idiotic persistence 🕊️👍🏻

                • Tristan Robert Lange

arqios, that’s beautifully put. The refusal of our being says far more about the refuser than the refused. Thank you for naming that so clearly. 🖤🧭🙏🕯️

                  • arqios

Welcome and thank you dear Tittu. Lived that non-existence many times over🕊️🙏🏻

                    • Tristan Robert Lange

I wish it were not so, for your sake, dear friend; but I can tell you have that lived experience, and it helps to know someone understands at such a level. Your presence and support are a blessing. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

                    • Doggerel Dave

I wouldn’t call myself fearless by any means, but if a relationship/friendship/association means too much diminishment of myself, then......
                      This rang very true, Tristan.

                      • Tristan Robert Lange

💯 Exactly Dave! This is not about fearlessness in the sense of bravado or even defiance…just knowing when a cost is too high and having the courage (and self-respect) to move onward. I appreciate you meeting it from that place, my friend. 🖤🧭🙏🕯️
