Thickness
Is not depth,
It’s actually
A defense

MECHANISM

That tells us,
You should get

ACCUSTOMED

To abuse
Because
We live in an

ABUSIVE WORLD.

I reject that!
I detest it!
I spit at it in disgust!

Woe to those
Who sell this
FALLACY of
FORGERY.

Nicely done! Heavy, intense write which makes all the better.

    • Tristan Robert Lange

Thank you so much, Katie. I am glad it resonated and that the heaviness added to it. That's always a delicate balance and I often wonder, so that is really helpful to know. Much appreciated, my friend! 🛡️🧠🔥🙏

This seems very emotional and strongly felt transmitting powerfully its message. I would never wish harm upon another nor willingly subject myself to undue abuse I do use the calluses that I've earned to prevent further injury. Nature does provide protection to repeated wear and tear. A great write Tristan

Soren, thank you for engaging it so thoughtfully. I appreciate how you named the difference between earned protection and imposed harm. That distinction really matters, and I trusted you would pick up on that, my friend. I’m grateful you felt the power behind the piece. Much appreciated, as always. 🛡️🧠🔥🙏

Gosh, that sounds like my F poem - Fallacy of Forgery. Here's a bit of my 18+ F poem. lol
          Ohhh, F, F, F, F, and F.
          And furthermore F, F, F, F, and F.......etc.

          • Tristan Robert Lange

Orchi, that made me laugh out loud. Leave it to you to find a cousin poem hiding in the alphabet. I, F, F, F, N, do love the glugging spirit of it! Thank you, my friend 🤣🛡️🧠🔥🙏

I don't even think people realise they're abusing you now, it's ingrained.
Escalators are a prime example, the amount of people who crack up when you're not running down them is amazing. My usual retort is. It's a machine that takes you up and down, moron. Abuse back and forth, it's like a starter for ten

            • Tristan Robert Lange

Paul, well said. When abuse becomes routine, it hides in plain sight—small moments, shared habits, unexamined expectations. Your example fits the poem’s argument exactly: just because something is common doesn’t make it acceptable. Rock on, my friend. Much appreciated! 🛡️🧠🔥🙏

To be delusional about our pain is often the result of being gaslit - a cancer to the soul and the best parts of ourselves 🙏🏻🕊️

              • Tristan Robert Lange

Rik, beautifully articulated. Gaslighting trains us to doubt our own depth, turning defense into destiny. Your comment meets the poem’s core…rejecting the lie that harm is formative. Grateful for your insight, my friend. 🛡️🧠🔥🙏
