Beyond the Night's Spark

Matthew R. Callies

In shadows thick where zombies reign,
A brave young soul defies their bane.
With nothing but a pen of worth,
He schemes to topple tyrant’s berth.

A world in fear, in chaos spun,
His silent fight has just begun.
But fate’s cruel hand, a twist of doom,
Transforms their hope to final gloom.

They flee in rockets, stars as guides,
Leaving Earth where darkness hides.
A vanished world, a fleeting spark,
Survivors drift into the dark.

Yet in his heart, a flame still glows,
A tale of courage, one that shows—
Even in despair, a spark can ignite,
And hope can soar beyond the night.
