Emotions Run Deep

mtrotter1

I am in hermit mode

Looking at life through shattered glass

My heart spills like red paint

On a blank canvas

For the wall has many shadows

Running from the ceiling

And the sky is alive

But I'm still holding on

Red roses weep at my demise

Petals fall in the rain

I am troubled

Yet distant from the truth

Kill me oh deadly sorrow

Embrace my pain

Tell me what is right and what is wrong

Show me the light that is not a child

Whispering secrets to an unknown soul

Oh what is my worth if I'm not a rusty penny

Shining in the dirt?

My shoes are hanging on a cloud

I am destined to be free

And I shall drink my heart's blood

In the midst of shattered glass

While the rest of me is beating

Outside my door.
