For my final act of Love.

Job Welime

For my final act of love,
I will finally leave you alone.

I won’t hover over your name in my contacts,
won’t reread old threads like they might change their minds.
Matter of fact, I won’t even leave your name there
because healing shouldn’t have a shortcut back to pain.

You can finally have the life you wanted without me.
No explanations.
No emotional check-ins.
No quiet accountability.

And I won’t call this giving up
this is me choosing peace
over proving I was worth staying for.

I loved you in ways that required presence,
and you loved me in ways that required distance.
Some loves don’t fail
they just ask for different versions of people.

So I’m releasing you
without bitterness,
without revenge,
without the need to be remembered.

Because real love knows when to step aside
and stop interrupting someone else’s becoming.

This is my goodbye,
not written in anger,
but in clarity.

I’m not disappearing.
I’m returning to myself
and that is the bravest love
I have left to give.
