An Angel's Wings

Kurt Philip Behm

God

brought to children

in sorties of pain

Strictures

and scriptures

religion ordained

The wings

of an Angel

lie buried within

Iconoclasts

pawning

— original sin

Wow this one hits deeper than usual with sanctimonious blows Kurt. Well written my friend

Thanks, as a philosophy/theology major, organized religion is a pet peeve.

You are most welcome Kurt and as a previous missionary I now could not agree more with you.

Kurt, that image of the angel’s wings buried within really struck me. It suggests something sacred suppressed, not destroyed…latent and aching. The tension between doctrine and damage is held tightly in that moment. Strong work, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Something we all share and only need to release. Thanks TR.

            Indeed. Most welcome, my friend.
