Not your wildflower

Natalie Heisey

I met you in the springtime, full of hope and You said you'd never hurt me, that our hearts were one I showed you all my colors, every little shade Believed your sweet promises, thought i had it made.

I poured out my soul, every drop at your feet Now I'm not your wildflower, just the ghost of what used to be sweet
You held me so close, then watched me decay Now I'm not your wildflower, you threw my love away

I gave you all my secrets, the ones I held inside My dreams, my fears, my weaknesses, with you, I couldn't hide
You built me up so gently, made me feel so alive Then you clipped my fragile petals, why did it have to die?

I poured out my soul, every drop at your feet Now I'm not your wildflower, just the ghost of what used to be sweet
You held me so close, then watched me decay Now I'm not your wildflower, you threw me away

Now you walk on by, like you don't even see
The broken pieces of the women, I used to be Do you ever think about the love you left to die? Or are you too busy watching other wildflowers catch your eye?

I poured out my soul, every drop at your feet Now I'm not your wildflower, just the ghost of what used to be sweet
You held me so close, then watched me decay Now I'm not your wildflower, you threw my love away

No, I'm not your wildflower
Just a faded memory
Knocking at your door
Im not your wildflower anymore.

Wildflowers so colorful and pretty but although some keep their color for some time others quickly wilt. This seems a poem of rejection after boredom sets into a relationship and old promises are ignored. Well done

Harsh reality of love and life.
Once the petals wilt, so does the love.
On the plus side, new flowers do develop.

Your absolutely right! New flowers do bloom and that side of the fence does become a little bit brighter
