Somewhere we went wrong and it hurts
And now
My heart
It has dents in it
It pumps red
But not the same as it used to
Bruised is my Heart
It’s different now
The vortex has wreaked havoc
A trail of destruction leaves bread crumbs
Led away from happiness
Bruised is my heart
It has holes in it now
A spackle repair kit might help
The tears speak freely still and they stain my cheeks
Willing them away is not working
But
What if I had two hearts?
And when one is broken and bruised and crying
I can get a socket wrench and replace the break
Twist the tool to the left and loosen the bolts holding on so fiercely
Gently will the bruise away and put in a new, fresh and red heart
That pumps it all, every drop of life
Pat…pat pat…pat..pat pat
So it can beat happy for a while and the old one can heal
I like that idea
So does my heart

Well done. Your poem revolves around heartbreak and emotional pain. It expresses the profound hurt experienced when a relationship goes wrong, leading to a sense of loss and a longing for healing.
Thanks 🙂
A most interesting idea a heart transplant but for emotional reasons not physical. Lovely
Too bad it can't be reality :). Thanks as usual for reading and getting my words
You are most welcome
