Caged birds don’t warble
They sing a song of sorrow
Waiting for freedom
And a beautiful tomorrow
Yet all birds start their day with a song
And then all day, they warble along
Though the past had been bleak
They are hopeful and still sing
And one day, who knows
Their hopes may still take wing..
Though some become so used
To staying in a cozy cage
They are scared to venture forward
And tempt their own fate
So even if left to fly
They first run helter skelter
Then find their way back soon
To a place they know has shelter.
We humans too, do panic
And stay in a sleepy trance
So finding no real takers
Away flies our golden chance..
So venture forward with courage
And like the eagle soar high
For Fate will one day turn
And success will then come by…

I really appreciate this dear NafisaSB a truly wonderful peice of reflection. I've never been in a perfect working environment and it's really tough, because I'm a person who gives my all, this reminds me that I'm not alone, others see things the way I do. Gorgeous 🌹
this is something i am familiar with - giving my all, and yet being sidelined because i am not publicity conscious, and the co-workers and bosses were stingy with praise, but loud in criticism...did not allow it to break me - so my request is to stand unbowed with head high, and not allow anyone to affect you..stay strong - you can do it...
This fave is for the combination of a wonderful message set in good rhyme and meter. Very nicely done
so generous with your praise - thanks a ton for the motivation..God bless
Most deserved and most welcome
With you there . take the chance - may not be golden, but chance = change and life can offer a vast variety.... and now for the downer: today opportunities are so much mor curtailed than, within my lifetime, they once were...
yes ,opportunity may knock only once, then disappear if not taken - so grab whatever chances you get because they are getting slimmer, and lesser
Safina, this poem balances empathy and exhortation beautifully. You honor the fear that keeps us caged while still reminding us that flight is possible. The closing turn toward courage feels earned, not forced. A hopeful and thoughtful piece. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
one is always cautious about that first step, and always fear rejection, thus letting golden opportunities go by - so my opinion is to take whatever is offered because even if not golden, that may be the only chance you get...
This carries a gentle, lived-in wisdom—cages, wings, and human hesitation blended with care.
The encouragement lands soft but firm; you can feel the patience behind each lifted note.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE GENEROUS FEEDBACK
