What Happened to England?

Shaunmatthewcpoetry

Freedom of speech has gone out the window,

1984 rules and regulations are fully on show,

What are the real motivations of Starmer & co?

A place of forgotten pride, forever tarnished,

Those UK politicians don't care about your wish.

Doubtful that this was ever really a democracy,

More like a cesspool of power hungry and crazy.

They say that the acorn does not fall far from the tree and so goes the illusion of liberty, nothing more than a shadow that disappears on a cloudy day and lines written in invisible ink on a crumbling constitution. A good write my friend

Those politicians that tarnished our country are on the way out. One party is imploding, the other one is led by a human rights lawyer who fails his own people every day, and would be gone if an election was tomorrow.

My memories of the sixties, seventies and part eighties there was a little different. I'd be a fool to claim it was perfect, but by all accounts (yours and others) it has gone down the gurgler since.

An interesting write with a great moral point. Enjoyed the read immensely.
