Yesterdays ghost
Head to one side
Whispers of love
In times fluid slide
From back room to front
Kitchen to hall
Stairway to landing
Shadows they fall.
Dust it has gathered
Breath heavy and wide
A sweet lullaby
Wine glass nearby
Lipsticked and silent
Scented and cursed
An hour falls gently
Lined in verse.
Eyes that flicker
As the dim light vibrates
Each moment in sorrow
Its meloncholy translates
To the log burning fire
In flame shadows to dance
About weeping walls trapped
As if in a trance.
