They Know Them

Devender Kumar

They know what they want.
They know how they eat.
They know how their brains work.
They have known them since
they kept them as slaves.
They have known them since
They were kings and the others
Were their servants.
They know how to tame them,
How to dissuade them. Now,
They think rules govern,
But they know how to
Govern—how to make rules
To keep them in control.
They know they are gullible;
They know they are fools.
They know how to make
Them even more foolish.
They think they vote
To elect them, but they
Know how to make them
Vote in their favour.
They are prepared by them;
They are cultured by them;
They are reaped by them.
