Stay

Alan R

Let time be human

Undecided and bothered

Paradoxical how I admire in one

Everything I resent in the other

I just wish to gently bleed

At the speed of my beating heart

And not be rushed to clean up after

A process that couldn’t even start

Let grief be clumsy and a little free

And untethered to the known linearity

Why must we always strive to predict

Why must we try and outpace reality

Let us not log hours when we cry

And not get up saying “its late”

Let us not rush this pulse of life

Let the eyes distort around love and hate.
