Shattered vows

Algendhir

Words that cut too deep

Actions that burn within

A vow was made,

Yet betrayal is all I gained.

As time passed,

The pain you gave me

Erased the love  I once held.

I won’t let these feelings turn into hate,

But disappointment is a weight I cannot shed

I trusted you,

And you deceived me.

All my aspirations,

My expectations,

My admiration,

My emotions-

Could not outlive the despair I felt.

You dimmed the light from my eyes

And snuffed the life from my heart.

Death did us apart

As hell became your path.

Here death and hell symbolic and metaphoric represent the relationship itself when betrayal becomes an issue of trust that the relationship is built upon. Well written
