Age of Almost

Aman 12

We are living in the Age of Almost
where everything’s nearly real.
The food is almost edible,
and love is almost ideal.

Words are almost heartfelt
Relations are almost well dealt
Beauty is almost natural
Truth is almost factual.

Smile is almost genuine
Hope is almost sanguine.
Work is almost done
and we all are almost one.

So near yet so far. Plastic is the word that comes to mind. Plastic wood that looks close to wood but not quite, a plastic smile is the same. A plastic artificial world of technology where the imagined is worth more than the real. Nicely written
