Table For One

Tonya Titus

There in the corner it sits; set and unreserved, in blatant availability.

No charming ambiance nor atmosphere gives it appeal,

and I am all too familiar with its impression.

So making my way to its quiet reception, I am seated -

unphased, and yet still hopeful.

A poem of familiarity with a place that no one has taken and the assuming of it. Nicely written it leaves me feeling unnoticed and alienated but still present.

Nicely written. Your poem revolves around the imagery of a table set for one, symbolizing loneliness and the acceptance of solitude while still holding onto a sense of optimism.

Tonya, this reads like an intimate moment of choosing to stay present. The lack of charm becomes part of the truth, and the hope that remains feels earned rather than forced. A thoughtful, understated piece. Welcome to MPS, and I’m glad to have read this. šŸŒ¹šŸ–¤šŸ™šŸ•ÆļøšŸ¦ā€ā¬›
