monster

jokes on me for thinking time could heal whatever this is. the scares you left will never heal; these I'll be buried with. I'm crying but I don't know why, I mean someone had to live. it was you or me we both knew that it wasn't knew information. we'd eventually consume each other one flame putting out the other leaving nothing but the scattered remains. crows would pluck out the eyes and pick at the brains. you almost had me beat I'll admit but something changed in those last seconds, I saw the lives that would suffer at your hands, the hands of a cold calculated man. I still wish I'd been the one to die now I'll carry your blood on my hands for the rest of my life. and though I know it was right I'll still feel guilty meanwhile had you survived you wouldn't feel a thing. I will always look in the mirror and forever see a monster. while if it were you standing right here, you'd see the reflection you've always fostered.
