choice

gia

relief

when you realise

life comes from you

no set path but a

    building

brick on brick on brick

on brick

stay still, nothing happens

but myself

     the only constant

I can move

and no word or look

can tear up such a well-paved road

this

      permanence

man-made and sure

I am sure

I am sure

life comes from me

   I choose

  • Comment from author about the poem: My partner always says “there is always a choice” and I think that’s true. I get to choose how my life goes. I get to choose who I am. I am building my life brick by brick and I am in control. It’s easy to forget that sometimes.

Beautiful poem,a little similar to my recent poem about identity yours resembles more a poem and mine a story but the exact same message.I get exactly what you meant when you structured it from beginning to end with the realisation that you do choose, even if it’s wrong or right, you place your own bricks.Very beautiful!

True it is there is always a choice even if it doesn't seem like a good one. Responsibility for the choice is ours. A lovely write
