Chains of ego

Doc X

In twilight's depth where kindness used to dance,

Ego rises, cloaked, a tempest's chance.

Once gentle hearts now hardened, cold as stone,

Selfish wishes whisper through the bone.

Words, like arrows, pierce through tender seams,

Trust unravels, lost in shattered dreams.

In the mirror, reflection starts to fade,

What once was unity, now love betrayed.

The laughter dims, replaced by silent cries,

Two souls adrift beneath unyielding skies.

To mend the rift, we must cast aside,

Ego’s chains that bind, and love's true guide.
