If I Could Change

MatPie

If I could change the way I was

I wouldn't be writing this poem

A slight misstep on this empty rock

I would've been a more happier

The way the rain falls on me

I would've been a more calm

If I could choose my own eyes

Objects would've been more divine

Or the sun would hold on to me forever

And bodies shall grow with flowers

With its visible thorns, spread with love and diseases

We will strive somewhere far, in this vision

If I could change the way I was

I would've written less poems

And touch poetry between my toes

The grass has always been greener

But I cannot see what's in front of me

Infinity swirls around me like a haunting loop

If I could change the way I was

Maybe I would've done writing this poem

And go to sleep.
