I talk to the heavens about you

Job Welime

I talk to the heavens about you
even when I don’t say your name.

I ask the wind, to carry peace to your chest,
to soften the weight of your days and calm the storms you never speak of.

I ask the stars to watch over your quiet nights, to stand guard over your sleep
the way my heart stands guard over you.

And if the world ever forgets, how deeply I love you, let the sky remember.

Because even in silence, even in distance, I am still choosing you.
