How sweet are the pleasures of love!
Don't play these games, children yet.
Romeo, son of Montague, fell in love
With his enemy's daughter, Juliet Capulet.
The youth gave Juliet his heart at once
And she took it with fear. astonished;
Keeping the secret, old Laurence
United them in lawful matrimony...
Chorus
The stars shone in the night,
Dazzling the children's eyes.
Ah, how they loved.
Ah, how they loved.
Ah, how they loved -
Of all mundane above!
Everything would have been fine and merry,
If poets had ruled the world set,
But Romeo—ah! — killed Tybalt —in fury -
The cusen of the aforementioned Juliet...
The youth was banished, but believe me:
Padre Lawrence acted skilfully as a theurgist -
Juliet died a feigned death fearlessly;
Romeo should have known about it...
Chorus
The messenger was too late with the letter,
He couldn't deliver it in time, what a pity...
Their love was great and strong, as the Sun,
Only death proved stronger, then fun.
The young Romeo sleeps under greens
Next to him is the beautiful Juliet:
No tale in the world has ever been
A sadder tale than in this booklet!
Chorus
The messenger was too late with the letter,
He couldn't deliver it in time, what a pity...
Their love was great and strong, as the Sun,
Only death proved stronger then fun...
The young Romeo sleeps iunder greens
Next to him is the beautiful Juliet:
No tale in the world has ever been
A sadder tale than in this booklet!
Chorus
