We are not angry enough.
I know you’ve seen some of it
You scroll away
Thinking it doesn’t concern you.
We are not angry enough.
You hear the files mentioned
But you don’t even blink
You don’t care anymore.
We are not angry enough.
You know bad people are in power
You’ll vote for more anyway
You’ll say it is what it is.
We are not angry enough.
We are not angry enough for change.

- Comment from author about the poem: Too many of us are doing nothing about this. We're being overloaded with information--war in Iran, ICE deportations, AI taking over jobs, the files. It is no longer a fight between red and blue, though it is being framed as such.

Shitshow all round... got to go (transport) back later.
Don't get too comfortable in your seatbelt... Thank you for reading!
Nah - didn't get too comfortable and would really liked to have got in first...But no, as I look down, the pack have got in ahead of me..... lol.
However (short diversion re Epstein Fs): It's rubbish: handed over in penny numbers with the guilty names blocked out. On this issue there is SFA 'we' can do about it. The only option anyone has is to grab the sick issue closest to you and throttle it to death. Wishing to take on the whole world will get you nowhere.
I suppose we're left counting pennies until they believe we're bound to give up... you're right that there's only so much we can do.
So long as I have a go. the issue closest to me right now is the resident's meeting where I live, which is mismanaged. It makes me feel better to do something about that.
🥷, this reads like a moral pulse check. The repetition is relentless for a reason…we scroll, we shrug, we move on. Meanwhile people can rage for days about a halftime show in Spanish, but muster almost nothing when the powerful get away with trafficking and abuse. “We are not angry enough for change” is diagnosis and warning in one. Strong, pointed, and timely. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
Yes, thank you for reading.
Most welcome!
I feel as you do NinjaGirl we are not angry enough because deluges of atrocities have made us complacent expecting the worst and getting it. Social distancing and technology in an overpopulated world has desensitized us and left us numb feeling powerless and as if we were watching a movie that is not real. Entertainment that is all it is entertainment, and we get the bill. Nice write NinjaGirl
Very true, you explained it so well. Thank you for reading.
You are most welcome NinjaGirl
yes, yes and yes- we read, ignore, and get on with our mundane life
It's rough. I cannot blame anyone for just wanting to forget it all, forget all the horrifying and gross things. But some injustice is done when we do so.
yes, our silence is our undoing, and their victory....
