A Teen Eighteen - Can you spare your sparse Time?

DeadRose

Notice of absence from DeadRose
Time travelling. Will be around sporadically.

Today Teen Tells all Tall That This Day Differs naught from Any Other Day.

for Today Is Like all Other Days.

Birth Day.

Birth Day, she surmises,

shall be celebrated with

all my family. Perhaps,

this year will be "THE YEAR".

Big eighteen.

Deadrose, what would you like for your birthday?

oh, nothing much.

nothing much.

I so hate gifts, meaningless

frivolousness things given once.

Once given, your kindness gone guess

it was as if it were a duty obligated

It is no materialistic thing I yearn for

for I ask something given so freely,

yet so sparse. I ask,

May I have your Time, and a simple Memory?

it is only I ask from you:

a Memory on my eighteenth year.

Can you spare your sparse Time?

I want distract not from important work you do.

I forget about you so often

I fear I will forget about you next year

Please attend, with loving regards,

Deadrose

I like the idea presented in this poem that gifts are in a way a ransom paid an obligation met so others can get on with their life and forget about others. A piece with heart and a strong message

  • Friendship

Your poem explores the significance of time and meaningful connections over materialistic gifts, particularly in the context of a milestone birthday. It reflects a yearning for genuine relationships and memorable experiences rather than superficial celebrations.
