What happens when I do?

ViolenceEndeavour

Notice of absence from ViolenceEndeavour
no motivation

Fluorescent lights smile,
I take a breath and walk.
I’m someone who isn’t worthwhile ,
But im cheery when I talk.
I don’t think I amount to much,
So ill have to keep aware
And continue to smile,
Turn away from that glare.

The lights smile too,
Can I be mad when I do the same?
Do these lights shining above me
Mean to burn my eyes with pain?
Perhaps I’m similar,
too bright for good
Maybe I’m using my spark too fast
Maybe I’ll lose it too soon.

I look at the lights,
beaming with glee.
I’ll smile back just once.
Maybe one time for me.

A lovely poem that asks the question can a light be too bright. A wattage for each occasion some for reading, some for work and others just a soft glow for romance. A light too bright can spoil the mood but one too dim can strain the eyes.
