Bitter Awareness, Too Late

Bitter Awareness, Too Late

Does the beginning
know of its unseen end?

Did the seed,
planted
in cold, damp earth,
ever realize

it would never behold
its branches,
its leaves,

or the fragrance
of its blossoms
never reach it?

Do we foresee our own ends or know how they may come about. I would not want to know for it would make me reckless before and overly confident. It would present a date to be worried about and preoccupied over. I think nature is grand having designed things as they are. Well written

Thank you, I appreciate your perspective and your kind words. I see the appeal in leaving things to nature’s design, yet there are expectations where the turn of events can end up disappointing us.

Nicely written. Your revolves around the metaphor of a seed planted in the earth, representing life’s potential and aspirations that may never come to fruition. It raises questions about awareness and the inherent limitations of existence.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful reading of my poem. I really appreciate the care you took in reflecting on the metaphor of the seed and its connection to potential and unrealized aspirations.
