Betwixt Apricity

MatPie

Unfolding the skies to me

When the wings of winds

Gave me a place to be

Under the shade of colorful trees

Wallow in the hollow depths

With the willows around me

Swallow what mother fed me

The grass were greener then

Now I am lost in empty spaces

The planet of my birth is long gone

Knock down by the soft tapping of time

The sun no longer shines here

I thought I'd see the sunrise again

But I never saw it ever since

There is a nostalgic feeling to this poem that seems to darken as the poem unfolds like a setting sun at twilight. There is a sadness to it. Nicely written
