Rationality

rebellion_in_sanity

Someone asked:
what was rationality.

I said:
Rationality is the state
of a system
when logic waves goodbye.

Asked them to picture,
sine and cosine curves,
side by side-
same shape yet completely
out of phase
at all times.

Having got their attention,
I pushed on:
Rationality is when
one says 'yes'
to hang on to his job,
even if it meant
his subsequent erasure.

(I received claps)

It is in ensuring
shareholders get
the largest pound of flesh,
though they don't work.

(more claps)

It is in making sure
farmers get peanuts
while Porsche rolls in
for the middleman.

(more more claps)

It is in making sure
a rapist would go free,
on technical aspects
and shall perform rape
again.

(loud applause)

Most of all,
it is in voting for leaders
who say climate change
is false;
though Greenland has turned
Green.

(thunderous applause)

I could see relief
on most faces.
One said they felt comforted
in having their rationality reaffirmed:
all of them had purchased bungalows
on lifelong loans.

And as you so darkly point out, rationality can only take me so far.....

Sadly I flip flop between being rational and irrational 😁😁😁.

Thank you very much for your support πŸ™

Were those bungalows on waterfront property in Florida where an irrigation ditch counts under the law as waterfront? Well done Rebellion

There doesn't seem to be that much of it about these days .. Maybe they've re-introduced rationing .. perhaps .. Very muchly enjoyed R.I.S πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

Rebellion, the progression from β€œ(I received claps)” to β€œ(thunderous applause)” is brilliantly staged. Each escalation exposes more moral fracture. And when you close with β€œall of them had purchased bungalows on lifelong loans,” it seals the hypocrisy cleanly. Well done, my friend. πŸŒΉπŸ–€πŸ™πŸ•―οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›
