The rain falls soft,a quiet grief,
Some puddles gather,dark and brief
Each drop a tear that slips away
Like the memories we can’t replay.
And, I love rain because you do,
Each droplet reminds me of you
Through your eyes, its beauty grew
Now, I love the rain, as it loves you.
I see your eyes in every puddle,
Mirrored where the rain lies subtle
From the sky, a gentle tear,
I dream of you so pure, so clear.
Every day, I hope that it will rain
So I can feel near you again,
A quiet song that fills the sky
A promise whispered as time goes by,
The water still yet filled with loss,
Reflects a world that’s turned to moss
In every pool a face long gone
A fleeting love, a fading song.
For in its hum, I hear your voice again
Soft as the rain against my windowpane
And, yes I say that I love the rain because of you
The only thing that doesn’t make me feel blue.
As rain falls down, I fill my mind
With all the dreams we left behind,
The rain holds, what time can steal
The echoes of what we cannot feel.

Thank you so much,I appreciate your comment.
You are most welcome
I like the longing in your poem.
Some journeys you want to repeat, but time does what it does and only memories remain.
