Nothing Left to Offer

Aziza S

I'll give you nothing

It's all I have left

I know it's our last night together so

Can you do the thing?

The thing where you look in my eyes

But don't see me

The thing where you wrap me in your arms

But don't touch me

The thing where you say it

But don't love me

Take what you need

I'll give you nothing

In its simplicity it says so much. This the first sign of poetry. In opposites it affirms in affirmation it negates a puzzle for philosophy and in both it sends a deep message about hypocrisy. Love such an easy word to say and such a difficult one to prove. In this poem a feeling of Buddhist thought that it is in giving up all possessions that we find enlightenment. Lovely a fave
