The Couple Nextdoor

Kevin Hulme

The Couple Nextdoor are Partying Wise,

It lasts through the Night until the Milkman arrives.

The Guests will turn up with a bottle or two,

Then the last days of Rome will quickly ensue.

There's dancing and Singing with drinks on the lawn,

With a Vomiting Competition that see's in the dawn.

So with all being Blotto a Fist-Fight breaks out,

It's the 'Jets' and the 'Sharks' without the Prancing about.

And the Ladies don't shirk when downing the brew,

They're transformed into something Dr Jekyll once knew.

Oh such fine Lizzy Bennetts at the start of the Night,

Now screaming wild Banshees embroiled in a fight.

With much scratching of eyes and pulling of hair,

Their language is more than a Sailor would share.

Then their Babies will howl, those Cherubs of fun,

So the decibels will rise and now bedlams begun.

With Bellows for lungs and red in the face,

John McEnroe himself could not match them for pace.

And on to the end the Guests will go Home,

With the Couple Nextdoor being solely alone.

Now that silence is King and it's Peaceful again,

To the dark land of Nod is my solitary Aim.

But what is that sound against my back wall,

That tells all my Pictures and the  Plaster to fall?

Their Headboards a banging, it's the last final straw,

Like a Tornado of sorts on the old Stable Door.

With cries of 'Yes' 'Yes' and 'Spank me again',

It the Beast with two Backs of Othello fame.

Well I've just had enough of the sighs and the groans,

To another of my Beds at the other side of my home.

And as I'm getting on down to some blissfull good sleep,

For should I die my Soul you can keep,

There is a loud blast that shakes my whole frame,

The Chairs, the Bed, and the Window-Pane.

For on the other side of the House are Neighbours quite New,.

Who's four Motorbikes were my only brief view.

The 'Hells Angels' Nextdoor are Heavy Metal wise...

A fun read that borders on reality and makes it plausible. Well done

You are most welcome my friend

With perdition on one side and some hell bent Harleys on the other , the neighbourhood has gone down the gurgler quick fast. Ever thought of a tent in a large open field? (when I do see the homeless in tents on the street, a very small part of my brain niggles that perhaps they are there to escape the neighbours....)

PS The use of the term 'perdition' indicates my view of parties generally and not just the one next door...

If ever a Vacancy in a Lighthouse turns up, I'll apply. Thanks for Reading.

I believe they are all becoming automated......
