Release

birdbird

Release the wounds.

Bricks fall down, splash, ocean pounds.

A ray of light and wave of sounds.

A ship it sets, into a rock, slow it falls into the abyss.

Its hit or miss like this is this when light won't shine the sound won't reach, the walls will breach and the end is time, when the sound goes deaf, and the light goes blind, and the mind is mined of rocks that fall and shine, shards of shattered glass and cliff and brick will bind.

Between the cracks of a sunken mind.

The lies, they stitch the shaky lines.

And higher and higher up lighter and lighter.

Flying up flying up spiralling spirals.

Sight eases as skies form seas out of seas in sight with white light despite the height forseen.

Tear seams.

Break body bags not this time.

Still trapped in a cell of time.

Lining with cyanide.

Die when skies form lies.

Higher higher.

Skies taking you higher.

Surprise drowning the fire.

Deep into the blaze.

Seas tighten my gaze.

Sky tightens around my eyes as they haze through this maze.

It stays frightened and flees.

Freeze burns to your knees.

And higher you dive deeper up lighter I breathe.

Release.

There are a lot of references to death in this poem and yet it swirls. Nicely done

This is one of my only poems that I can feel brave enough to share with people I know. Bcs it's just hidden metaphors, and without them it's just a nice serene poem.

It does take some nerve to bare oneself in public. You did well
