I Am Waiting For You

Anthony Hanible

I am waiting for you

In the soft hush where midnight learns to breathe

Where the air remembers your name

Even when my lips stay still

I am waiting for you

The way dawn waits on the edge of the sky

Holding its light carefully

Saving its first warmth

For the one it loves

I am waiting for you

In every quiet corner of my heart

Where hope curls like a small flame

And refuses to go out

I am waiting for you

Not with impatience

But with the steady faith

That love always finds

Its way home

Patience and expectation of return in this poem that romantically presents fidelity faith as sure as knowledge. Time returns all. Lovely
