I Am Waiting For You

Anthony Hanible

I am waiting for you

In the soft hush where midnight learns to breathe

Where the air remembers your name

Even when my lips stay still

I am waiting for you

The way dawn waits on the edge of the sky

Holding its light carefully

Saving its first warmth

For the one it loves

I am waiting for you

In every quiet corner of my heart

Where hope curls like a small flame

And refuses to go out

I am waiting for you

Not with impatience

But with the steady faith

That love always finds

Its way home
