Childhood Chained Coward

marissa

Wailing and screaming.

You’re kicking your feet

Like the reject amid you

You now condemn me

Flying your kite into the second dimension

How do you comport this way-nearing your pension

Is it the wrath that rots in your heart?

Is it our pride that has kept us apart?

Is it the envy that’s deep in your core?

The questions i ask-when you slam the door

Door in my face-the door gives you space

Poise isn’t enough to make you behave

Depriving my opinion or my human right

You revoke all my freedom-with your raging sight

Wailing and screaming

You are twenty years old

Like the evil inside you

Begins to unfold

I believe we have met-in that other dimension

Why we must meet again-sits beyond comprehension

I’ve come too succeeded to long for your admiration

So cease to exist-you damned apparition

Wailing and screaming-my turn,it has come

Because my time with you-is finally done.

This poem voices well the end of a relation that one has found draining. It is raw and emotional. Well written

I do like questions... but maybe some are left best unanswered. Great poem as always Marissa

Not all questions want an answer, some are vaguely disguised as statements.Thank you for reading!

“The questions i ask-when you slam the door” is the hinge for me. That image of the door in your face captures rejection and power imbalance in one motion. Then “you damned apparition” turns the person into something haunting and draining. Strong poem, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
