Goodbye Kitty

Zak McKay

Notice of absence from Zak McKay
Shortly before or after May I will become absent and likely not come back for A LONG TIME. Untill then, I'll be here, maybe.

Goodbye kitty, the stray i found.

you brought me light when none was found.

As you go to a better home,

I'll still be here, all alone.

I'm 16 and my folks don't understand my depression,

I really enjoyed those nice and quiet petting sessions.

So as you leave my life just like my mom and dad and everyone else,

I'll always keep an imaginary picture of you on a mental shelf.

....Goodbye....forever.....my one and only kitty

A sad poem where a bond was made and now broken. Loss is the theme of this poem. Well written

A very sad and touching write, a loving bond being broken, leaving a huge sense of loss and loneliness. This little kitty was clearly much more than a passing pet, it was a reason to to get up everyday, it had become a soul mate, well written and expressed.
