The Wait

_Doc_

In silence where the lonely whispers dwell,

I wandered through the years, a heart in shell,

Each sunset painted dreams I dared to hold,

Yet none could warm the nights, so dark and cold.

But then you came, as dawn breaks through the night,

A spark igniting all that felt so right,

With every glance, a thousand stars align,

My heart awakened, yours began to shine.

The wait was worth each tear that stained my face,

In you, I find my comfort, my embrace,

Together now, the world fades into hue,

For in your eyes, I see my dreams come true.

A tender love poem nicely written in what I take as a plea for reciprocity
