Word News From the Russian Prison by Vladimir Visotski

Ksey_Gan

I'm not trying to get on your nerves, guys, eventually,

But here it is - an exaggeration and a paradox:

Someone at Rome is elected Pope  spiritual -

Someone at Russia is locked in a sweat-box.

There, all the crony positions're  snatched up as usually  -

They huddled, hoping for the best.

Meanwhile, throughout honest sunnmy Italy,

No candidate was found for the Pope contest.

It's a pity they sprang a trap on me at the wrong time:

I would have swallowed a glass and gone to the Vatican!

The disorganized churchmen gaped chops,

The sacred Vatican hesitated a bit whole -

And then we  slipped them Ioan Pavel Pope

From our people, from the Slaves, from the Poles!

I am on prison bed, in Naro-Fominsk Prison

If only you knew, wasting my life-scam,

That I could have become Pope so soon,

But sorry, naturally I can not be a Mom.

It's a pity they sprang a trap on me at the wrong time.

I would have swallowed a glass and gone to the Vatican!

Whether in power, in money, or under a diadem

Fate tosses people around like kittens blind,

But how did we miss out on Reza Shah's room,

Our descendants will never forgive us any kind!

The Shah admitted his utter incompetence -

Now, let just go and quickly replace him!

Where can we find one? Everybody  at Turkmenistan...

Could become the Ayatollah and even Khomeini.

All my life, I've gored to the gate like a ram.

But I would to take the Koran and go to Tehran!

In all Americas, or entire  Asia, or Europe,

That one is unwell, and  one will suddenly die.

We missed out on Golda Meir's place as dropped,

And there—a quarter of our former nation Judes.

Moshe Dayan was blind men even before,

If only I could knock out a second eye, catching at night!

And if I am no use in Iran now, there for -

Then I could go to Tel Aviv by speedy flight .

We’ve talents floating the Volga or the Kama,

All with swords and cloaks as middletime knight;

Ruslan Khalilov, my cellmate, criminal gunman,

China’s Mao has no  power against his site.

Our successes are hard for four people to bear,

But each one is such stocky and even lean there;

After all, we raised, without false modesty fair

Greek billionaire Aristotle Socrates Onassis's heir.

Keep an eye on the sick and the dead in rest:

Onassis's widow, Jacqui, will soon pass away.

I'll be sweet and bold with the billionairesses—

Just give me free rein, guys, from a cell rey!
