💔Fate’s Shadow💔

Sami Khelifa

They say our love was a mistake... a wrong turn in the dark
They want to fix the fire, but I only want the spark
If being with you is a sin, then let me never be right
I’d rather stay "wrong" with you, than be lonely in the light
The world can keep its reasons, I don’t care what they see
As long as you’re standing here... right next to me.

I swear, it’s not worth it—to live this life alone
A kingdom without a queen, a heart without a home

You were the candle's glow, you were my morning sun
But you vanished in the shadows before the day was done
How can I walk these roads? How can I scatter flowers?
When distance is a desert... that swallows all my hours.

I gave your eyes a promise, a vow I meant to keep
That we would belong together, even when the world’s asleep
But Fate was hiding closer, it was swifter than my breath
And now the silence in this room is heavier than death

They told me it’s a mistake, but they don’t understand
My only true regret... is letting go of your hand.

It was written that we’d long for a love so sweet and pure
Until the world dissolves, and only the ache is sure
I’m "wrong" and I’m broken, but I’m still loving you
In a world that’s worth nothing, you were the only truth.

If tomorrow we are apart...
Then losing you...
That was the only mistake.
The only mistake.

Then losing you...
The only mistake.
The only...

  • Comment from author about the poem: My poem was born from a cry of the heart; I wrote it while feeling every shatter of the silence that now stands between us. I wanted to transform this alchemy of pain and passion into an eternal melody, so that in fate’s shadow, my love for you remains the only truth.

This expresses the pain of loss of one's love and the devastation that accompanies it. Nicely written

      “Merci”.
In "Fate’s Shadow”, the loss is real and the silence is heavy.
I’m grateful you took the time to feel it with me.
