what is liberty?

- Comment from author about the poem: two questions in one... freedom to me means being able, also meaning not to be controlled, but as well as being able to share that freedom with others who are able. Still what does it mean to be free in a world that didn't recognize... dehumanize other people.

True freedom has never been achieved as we are always controlled in some way or other, but at least in some countries we currently have a certain amount of freedom, although that is slowly being eradicated. It is sad that freedom cannot just be a given for all mankind, enjoyed the read
I find it funny how there is multiple levels of freedom, one of them being you mentioned "true freedom"... I'll take just regular freedom over a false one though. Thanks for your comment, hope you are doing well.
Your welcome
A most interesting question that dives into the depth of determinism and free will beyond the more concrete issue of the physical. It is a matter of perception for even the slave has the ultimate choice to comply or not and suffer the consequences. We all suffer consequences for our choices and the illusion that we have it gives the further illusion that we are responsible for the outcome of our actions. It all is in the mind.
I guess we should continue feeding our mind with more poetry! Thank you Soren!
You are most welcome Demar
Great question, Demar. For me, it`s (presently) freedom from false beliefs. But then, who or what is this thing I call "me"?!
ahhh... even better question Mutley
Demar, this hits hard…you ask a question that refuses to sit quietly. It feels stripped down and urgent, like history still breathing down our necks...as it damn-well should. The weight of it lingers long after the last line. Powerful piece, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
thank you bro, still I wonder to know, what does freedom mean to you?
I'll let you know when I actually experience it, my friend. I don't think what we call freedom is all that free. Freer than others. Sure. But free? And Free civilly, socially, politically, spiritually, emotionally, etc.? So, for me, it's a bit hard to answer. Yet, being pressed, it looks like peace...especially internally.
respect
Same to you, my friend!
I don’t know how to answer this one, everything I think of just seems wrong. I’ll have to sit and ponder this for a bit.
I’ll be here waiting A 🤟🏽
