Less

birdbird

Life looks lifeless

Less than those living less.

Life looks lively, though lots live livelier.

Lives lay lifeless, those lives lay lifeless.

Then thy life lay level, their lives lay leveled.

The lies that thin them, the lead that leads the lively, the thread that lures the likely.

The dead will take the lively, and offer them to the dead.

    It is the alliteration that raises the dust in this poem it clouds the air and causes the mind to pause and clear itself. Nicely done

      Thank you, somehow people don't notice the alliteration most of the time ;-;

        You are most welcome. Most readers do a most cursory job and to notice details like alliteration and metaphor often takes more than one reading. Most of our readers never catch meanings or fine details in alliteration or rhyme.
