My heart
Once isolated
Locked in a dark room never to be seen
In every variation of the truth my heart was always at fault
Hidden behind the cage that had been designed to hold it
Boom boom….boom
Trying to escape and to prosper in a world not meant to keep it
Thrusting itself into the hands of resolution
Resolution a gift its longed for
A gift of understanding
Late night conversations make all the more sense
The late night conversations the mind kept from the heart
The betrayal the mind can surely understand and the heart can not
True love the mind can not understand but the heart can
Love is what the heart longs for
No more cowering in the confines of the ribs that make its cage
No more hiding like a child
Accepting that the heart is not a monster
The heart longs for love
To love and to love
To dance with another “monster”
To have its soul dance with anothers
To be the happiness in a lonely cage
To be the flowers aranged around a bloody bone

This poem deals with the topic of being wanted to be able to care for someone else it speaks of the divide between heart and mind and how each does not understand that other. Well written

Lilly, there’s a strong emotional vulnerability in this piece… the struggle between mind and heart comes through clearly, especially in the way the heart is first treated like something dangerous.
