The Warlords of Greed

Devender Kumar

The world leaders are on a mission,
To silence peace wherever it breathes,
Their turbulent minds and violent hearts,
Hunger to possess and control the world.
Their greed burns to rule till the end of days,
They despise peace, for it unsettles them,
Their minds recoil at the sight of innocence,
For its beauty mirrors their own ugliness.
They bow beneath the shadow of the devil,
Drawn to darkness, destruction their delight,
They march with fury to devour the earth, T
o swallow whole what light and life remain.
The sky, the moon, the vast and boundless ocean,
The grace of nature mocks their wicked souls,
For every beautiful thing they seek to ruin,
Their hearts black vessels, overflowing hate.

"Forgive them for they know not what they do" A most powerful poem that speaks of power uncontrolled, greed unbridled, of avarice and blindness. But to forgive first one must cure and for this there seems no medication, surgery is the answer. Nicely written
