Teachers put their heart into making you smart,
They plant the first seed and provide the head start. π±
Stand for the teacher, give honor its due,
For the light of the world is reflected in you. π―οΈ
Like a messenger sent with a truth to unfold,
They turn the raw iron to shimmering gold. β¨
Can any task be more noble or hold more degree,
Than building the spirit and the mind that is free? π§ π
From the darkness of doubt to the brilliance of day,
They guide every footstep and clear out the way.βοΈ
With patience of prophets and hearts meant to serve,
They offer the wisdom that students deserve. π
To build a great nation, to reach for the sky,
It starts with the teacher and a "never say die." π
For the greatest of heroes, the bold and the true,
Were once just a student in a desk, facing you. π
So here’s to the guides of the pens and the scrolls,
The keepers of hope and the builders of souls. βοΈβ€οΈ
With a heart full of passion and lessons to impart,
Teachers put their heart into making you smart. ππ

- Comment from author about the poem: This poem bridges the classical wisdom of my heritage with the passion of my new calling in the classrooms of the Prairies. It serves as my mission statement, reminding me that beyond every lesson, our true work is the noble art of building souls and shaping the future. πβ¨

So true it is, this poem speaks to an undervalued profession. I would have to say that a couple of teachers made all the difference in my life others pulled me back and almost destroyed me. I have a sister that teaches and I have taught myself and there is nothing more gratifying than seeing the difference made in a life by what you teach. But beware for the power of teaching is a two edged sword and cuts both ways, with the ability to destroy as well as build. A lovely write so well expressed. In fact I intend to post a poem tomorrow that hints at student teacher interaction
Thank you for these beautiful words. You're rightβit is a massive responsibility. I can't wait to read your poem tomorrow!
